Qatar Financial Centre Registers 37% Increase In Firms

Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) closed the first half  of 2026 with a 37% rise in registrations across a year-on-year comparison. The impressive increase underscores the strength of QFC`s strategy and the appeal of Qatar’s business environment to investors and entrepreneurs.

Qatar Financial Centre Now Hosts Over 4,700 Listed Firms

Qatar Financial Centre onboarded 1,135 firms during the period, bringing its total registered firms to over 4,700 at the end of June. Growth was recorded across QFC’s key focus areas, with Technology and Innovation leading the way registering 544 new firms. Further growth sectors included Media/Entertainment with 173, Consulting and Professional Services at 166, Wealth registering 84 and Fintech with 65.

Qatar Financial Centre H1 growth was boosted by the Web Summit Qatar 2026, where it received 2,300 business licensing applications. These figures show an impressive increase of approximately 44% from 2025. The strong showing reflects the impact of QFC’s incentives and streamlined onboarding process to facilitate market entry.

Advancements Made In Local And Regional Financial Services Sector

Early 2026 saw QFC register Qatar’s first Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) investment fund in the financial services sector. As a result, Salwa REIT will offer an economical and efficient way to own income-generating real estate assets in Qatar.

Locally, H1 2026 marked a defining chapter for the organisation as it relocated to its new headquarters in Lusail City. The move positioned QFC at the heart of a smart, sustainable and rapidly emerging district. Alongside these achievements, QFC continued as an active ecosystem contributor by hosting 12 events attracting over 1,500 participants. Regionally, Qatar Financial Centre strengthened its regulatory cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Global Market and the Dubai International Financial Centre. Its main focus was to bolster reciprocal data protection and improve adequacy recognition. This initiative reflects close regional regulatory cooperation between the three financial centres while streamlining cross-border operations for regional companies.
