Oman investment opportunities for small and medium enterprises have been announced for a prominent new tourism project in the Sultanate. Contracts associated with the Muttrah Teleferik cable car project are available as it prepares for its trial run in December.
Tourism Project Targeting Improved Customer Experience
Officially announced by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, investment will target companies with licensed activities in specified sectors. The Authority will provide funding of up to OMR 500 thousand (USD 1.3 million), subject to terms/conditions of Riyada programme.
The project is seeking innovative, value-added ideas that contribute to improving overall visitor experience and enhancing the project’s economic viability. Therefore, Oman investment opportunities include design support for project visual identity and marketing/promotion through the Muttrah Cable Car`s media/marketing channels. Further requirements include specialised consulting and guidance sessions in the areas of operation, marketing and business development. In addition, the possibility of partial investment in selected projects may be available.
Wide Variety Of Oman Investment Opportunities Available
Specific Oman investment opportunities include a mountain bike project, a mountain toboggan run, digital advertising screens and a giant swing. Additionally, an indoor children’s play area, outdoor kiosks/restaurants, a specialised flower shop and a shop for manufacturing and selling Omani sweets will be required.
The mountain bike project involves operating off-road bikes on a mountain trail ranging from 500-700 metres at the Muttrah summit station. Likewise, the toboggan run project involves operating single/double toboggan rides on a safe, metal track approximately 867 metres long. Additional requirements include installation of digital LED advertising screens at cable car stations to enhance visitor engagement and generate revenue. Furthermore, the development of an indoor, climate-controlled family entertainment zone featuring educational children’s activities and leisure facilities will be needed.
