Oman and China Hainan Province recently explored ways of expanding business and investment partnerships across promising economic and industrial sectors. Both nations are focusing on increasing collaboration in special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities.
High Level Meetings Between Oman And China Hosted In Muscat
The high level meetings were held in Muscat between Oman`s Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) and an economic delegation from Hainan Province. The two sides met at the Authority`s headquarters and reviewed investment opportunities available in their establishments across the Sultanate. Accordingly, OPAZ highlighted Oman’s strategic location, regulatory flexibility and access to regional and global markets as unique selling points. In addition, the presentation noted the logistical advantages provided by Oman’s network of ports and airports including its integrated infrastructure.
Both Sides Encouraging Investment And Establishing Partnerships
Meanwhile potential areas of cooperation and opportunities to establish partnerships between companies and institutions in Hainan, China were also discussed. Oman and China stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and facilitation while creating an environment encouraging economic and investment cooperation. They also highlighted the involvement of economic zones, companies and the private sector in developing/implementing investment and commercial projects.
Talks covered the exchange of expertise in developing/managing and strengthening integration in economic and specialised zones, zones/ports and industrial clusters. Oman and China emphasised the importance of progressing from cooperation frameworks towards practical partnerships based on specific initiatives and projects.
