Ministry Commerce Industry Targets Investment

Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Qatar Energy recently signed Terms of Reference to improve investment cooperation. The agreement will establish and implement a governance mechanism for the allocation of hydrocarbon-derived resources to industrial investment opportunities. In addition, it will include the development of a new medium industries area in Mesaieed Industrial City.

Important Resources Allocated To Industrial Investment Opportunities

The document stipulates the evaluation/allocation of natural gas, power and related natural resources to downstream derivative industrial investment opportunities. Accordingly, it will ensure the optimal use of national resources and enhance the added value of the industrial sector. This will be achieved by establishing a joint governance framework to evaluate and allocate required resources. The signing occurred during a ceremony at Qatar Energy’s headquarters and represents a strategic step towards enhancing the competitiveness of Qatar`s industrial sector. The transformative framework aims to attract qualitative investments and support sustainable industrial growth. Through this agreement, Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry will target industrial investment, connect with investors and coordinate the industrial ecosystem. Simultaneously, Qatar Energy will provide technical and commercial expertise related to resource allocation and utilization.

The initiative contributes to the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen the industrial investment environment, support economic diversity and sustainable development. These goals align with both the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy.

Qatar Ministry Of Commerce Industry Establishes Working Team

Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Qatar Energy will establish a working team to allocate hydrocarbon-derived resources. The team will involve other national stakeholders as required, including Ministry of Finance and Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation. Additional entities include Invest Qatar, Qatar Free Zones Authority, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and Qatar Development Bank.
