Oman Announces Integrated Tourism Development

Oman`s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism recently signed an agreement with Sorouh Al Qurum Real Estate Company to construct an integrated tourism complex. It will be executed in phases over 15 years and represents an appealing opportunity to start a business in Oman.

Development To Include Hotels, Retail And Leisure Attractions

The development will cover 165,000 square metres in Al Qurum, Wilayat of Bausher, with projected investment of OMR 230 million (USD 597.56 million). It will comprise of two four-star hotels providing over 400 rooms complemented by retail outlets and leisure attractions. In addition, the project will also offer freehold residential units to both Omanis and non-Omanis. The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism expects the project to strengthen Muscat’s hospitality capacity and generate employment opportunities across construction and subsequent operational phases. Moreover the initiative is predicted to stimulate private investment and will encourage investors to start a business in Oman. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to upgrade tourism infrastructure, enhance destination competitiveness and increase the sector’s contribution to economic diversification in line with national development objectives.

South Batinah Governate Announces Infrastructure Tenders In Rustaq

In associated news, South Batinah governorate announced a tender to develop Phase III of Ain Al Kasfa in Rustaq. It has invited specialised companies to submit their bids in accordance with the terms and specifications outlined in tender documents. The deadline for submission of bids is March 23rd and represents another attractive opportunity to start a business in Oman. The tender builds on earlier development phases at the site, which contributed to upgrading infrastructure and enhancing service facilities. Phase III will include work to enhancing tourism facilities, including improving the overall landscape and raising service quality for visitors.

The project aligns with the government’s strategy of modernising tourism sites to attract domestic and international tourists, thereby supporting economic diversification. Furthermore, it demonstrates South Batinah governorate’s commitment to strengthening private sector partnerships while encouraging entities to start a business in Oman.
