Kazakhstan officials presented their ‘Kazakhstan Investment Opportunities for Korean Business’ at an event in Seoul, South Korea recently. The event brought together representatives of government agencies, national companies, financial institutions and business communities from both countries. Accordingly, 50 leading Korean companies representing the energy, industrial, infrastructure, financial and technology sectors participated in the discussions.
Kazakh-Korean Strategic Partnership Progressively Developing
The event emphasised development of the Kazakh-Korean strategic partnership and growing interest of South Korean businesses in Kazakhstan Investment Opportunities. The presentation detailed Kazakhstan’s competitive advantages as an important transport and logistics hub and reliable platform for long-term investment projects. Korean partners were presented with promising Kazakhstan Investment Opportunities in sectors including energy, mechanical engineering, agro-industrial complex, transport infrastructure, logistics and digital technologies. Consequently, emphasis was placed on developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route – a key transit route between Asia and Europe. Furthermore, the event showcased opportunities offered by Kazakhstan’s special economic and industrial zones noting current government support measures for investors.
Indonesia Interested In Attractive Kazakhstan Investment Opportunities
In associated news, Kazakhstan and Indonesia agreed to deepen economic cooperation in trade, logistics, agriculture, mining and energy. Kazakhstan described Indonesia as one of its key partners in Southeast Asia and emphasised potential to increase trade beyond KZT 113.5 billion(USD 244.7 million) in 2025. In Quarter 1 this year, trade turnover reached KZT 14.62 billion (USD 31.5 million).
Officials explored using Kazakhstan’s transit corridors to connect Indonesia with Central Asia, the Eurasian Economic Union, Caucasus and Europe. Proposed Kazakhstan Investment Opportunities include increasing exports of wheat, ferroalloys and halal meat products to Indonesia. The two Republic`s also discussed cooperation in halal production, food security, energy, digitalisation and tourism. The prioritisation of the free trade agreement between Eurasian Economic Union and Indonesia was identified as a key initiative.
