QFC Records 64% Growth Of Company Registrations

Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) recorded a 64% increase in company registrations in the first half of 2025 using year-on-year comparison. This growth reflects increased investor confidence in Qatar`s market and reaffirms QFC’s position as a trusted platform for doing business.

QFC Introduces Strategic Reforms Resulting In Easier Market Entry

The QFC recorded 828 new firms bringing the total number of listed firms to 3,300 by June 2025. Furthermore, QFC regulated firms delivered strong performance, with corporate and investment banks driving a 19% year-on-year increase in assets under management. Notably, QFC’s performance was supported by strategic reforms to facilitate market entry, targeted business development and stakeholder engagement efforts. These include simplifying incorporation processes, allowing applicants to instantly establish a legal entity and obtain a license for non-regulated activities. Further reforms include reducing the application fee for licensing a business by 90%, which has significantly lowered barriers to entry. As a result, this has successfully encouraged more entrepreneurs to launch their businesses using the QFC platform.

Impactful Initiatives And Promotional Events Have Increased Awareness

During the first half of 2025, QFC raised awareness by hosting and participating in international, regional and local events. Accordingly, such targeted publicity promoted its value proposition and highlighted Qatar’s competitive business environment to investors and relevant stakeholders. Notably, QFC`s presence at the Qatar Web Summit was particularly impactful seeing 566 firms registered between February and June. It also expanded its network through strategic partnerships aimed at advancing focus sectors, supporting economic development and facilitating cross-border investment. Further progress was made under the QFC’s flagship initiative – The Innovation Dome. In addition, the QFC Metaverse was launched, an immersive digital platform designed to facilitate business engagement, collaboration and innovation. The Qatar Financial Centre offers its own legal, regulatory, tax and business environment, which allows up to 100% foreign ownership. Furthermore, it permits 100% repatriation of profits and offers a competitive rate of 10% corporate tax on locally sourced profits.
