Qatars MCIT launches ‘Scale Now’ for digital entrepreneurs

Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) recently launched the ‘Scale Now’ programme, aimed at accelerating growth of digital entrepreneurs and startups within Qatar. Therefore this pioneering initiative is designed to equip digital startups with the resources, mentorship and expertise required to expand their businesses locally, regionally and internationally.

Scale Now Aligned With the Digital Agenda 2030

As part of Qatar’s broader strategy to enhance its digital economy, the ‘Scale Now’ aligns with the Digital Agenda 2030. As a result, the initiative fosters a robust environment for digital innovation, while supporting the development of startups and reinforcing Qatar’s position as a leading regional hub for the digital economy.

Built Around 3 Key Pillars:

The programme is built around three key pillars to drive startup success:

  • 1. Capability Building and Mentorship: Participants receive hands-on guidance from a network of renowned global experts in entrepreneurship, business strategy and operations. Consequently, this mentorship helps startups refine their business models, increase competitiveness and optimise their operations.
  • 2. Local Go-To-Market Support: This pillar facilitates direct engagement with influential local market leaders, enabling startups to establish valuable business partnerships and strengthen their presence within Qatar’s business landscape.
  • 3. Expansion Readiness Support: Startups are equipped with the tools and strategies necessary to scale into regional and global markets. As a result, this essential support unlocks new opportunities for growth and innovation on an international level.

MCIT Demonstrates its Commitment to StartUps

‘Scale Now’ reflects the MCIT’s commitment to fostering digital entrepreneurship and driving innovation in Qatar. Accordingly, the initiative is designed to empower startups by providing critical support for long-term sustainability and growth. Furthermore, the programme has already launched its first cohort, which includes six digital entrepreneurs from various sectors. Future cohorts will accommodate up to 15 entrepreneurs every six months. In order to qualify for ‘Scale Now’, startups must be registered in Qatar, possess a market-ready product or service. Also, they must demonstrate an ability to operate consistently throughout the programme.
