Qatar Targets Trade Expansion with Hungary and Poland

Qatar Chamber recently hosted a delegation from the Republic of Hungary organised by the Embassy of Hungary in Qatar and the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA). The meeting focused on enhancing mutual trade and investment relations between both nations. Notably, it featured leading Hungarian agri-business companies offering expertise in agricultural innovation and sustainable food production.

Achieving Qatar`s National Food Security Strategy

Over recent years Qatar has successfully advanced its national food security strategy in line with the Qatar Vision 2030. Importantly, it has fortified its agricultural framework by boosting local production, improving systems and adopting smart technologies. Accordingly, the State welcomes Hungarian collaboration including knowledge exchange through joint ventures, investment and advanced agricultural technologies.

Qatar and Poland Also Exploring Initiatives to Increase Mutual Trade

In associated news, Qatar and Poland are exploring initiatives to increase mutual trade expansion targeting growth above the QAR 800 million (USD 219.2 million) recorded in 2024. As a result, both countries are committed to focusing on high-end products and advanced technology. Currently, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) represents Qatar’s primary export to Poland. Conversely, Poland presently exports a varied portfolio of goods to Qatar, including food products, machinery and aviation related items. However, it is expected that Qatar`s diversification strategy will result in an extended product range becoming available for export. Alternatively, Poland can offer fashion products and pioneering tech solutions including highly developed machinery and advanced banking services.

Qatar – Poland Technology Forum 2025

A cornerstone of this effort to showcase innovation is the annual Qatar-Poland technology forum at the end of 2025 in Doha. Discussions are ongoing with potential partners including Invest Qatar, Qatar Financial Centre, Qatar Science and Technology Park, Qatar Development Bank and Qatar Free Zones Authority. Moreover, both countries are actively working to enhance cultural and artistic exchanges with numerous events planned in Qatar this year.
