Oman And Italy Actively Advancing Economic Ties

Oman and Italy are seeking to deepen economic cooperation by expanding bilateral ties and exploring long-term investment and sector-based partnerships. Relations between Muscat and Rome have gained momentum in recent years, supported by closer political coordination and growing economic engagement.

Oman And Italy Trade Exchange Worth OMR 184 Million In 2025

This progress was reflected in a meeting on the sidelines of the 46th GCC Summit, as both sides discussed avenues to broaden cooperation across several sectors. According to data from Oman`s National Centre for Statistics and Information trade exchange between both countries reached (OMR 184.3 million) USD 478.98 million) in 2025. Omani exports to Italy totalled OMR 33.6 million (USD 87.34 million), while imports reached OMR 150.7 million (USD 391.8 million). Omani exports were led by metals and metal products, plastics and rubber, machinery, electrical equipment and vehicles. Conversely, Italian imports included chemical products, food industry goods and machinery and electrical equipment. Additionally, tourism has emerged as a growing link, with around 80,600 Italian visitors to Oman in 2025, supported by direct flights between Muscat and Rome.

Oman`s Minister Of Energy And Minerals Meets Egyptian Counterpart

In associated news, Oman`s Ministry of Energy and Minerals recently met their Egyptian counterparts to discuss plans to exchange expertise. Both countries are keen to develop potential areas of cooperation in the fields of mining development, oil and gas. Oman has recently completed a comprehensive aerial survey, which aims to improve the exploitation of mineral resources. Both sides explored ways to maximise participation of Egyptian companies in implementing infrastructure projects in Oman`s oil and gas sector. Currently, Enppi and Petrojet are currently working on major projects. In addition, the Egyptian Drilling Company (EDC) has been registered to participate in well-drilling projects in Oman.
