Oman Franchise Programme Launches Fifth Edition

The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has launched the fifth edition of its Oman Franchise Programme. The OCCI scheme will contribute to economic diversification and development of the Governorates in alignment with the Oman Vision 2040.

Oman Franchise Programme Promoting Opportunities Across Sultanate

The Oman Franchise Programme aims to promote a culture of franchising among business owners and to support scalable Omani brands. To better support participants, it recently undertook an important organisational transformation by establishing the Franchise Centre Committee. The Centre aims to empower 300 brands, focusing on raising their market value to OMR 1 billion (USD 2.59 billion).

In order to achieve this, The Oman Franchise Programme has improved the comprehensive package of services it offers. These incorporate assessing brand readiness, examining operating models, preparing franchise manuals and developing contracts and operating systems. Further services include providing legal and financial consultancy, preparing feasibility studies, promoting brands and connecting them with investors. In addition, the programme also organises training courses and specialised qualification programmes.

OCCI Building International Presence In 22 Countries

The Franchise Programme is also expanding its international presence, targeting 22 countries while building a network of over 150 international franchisors. It also hopes to attract over 220 investors and partners from different markets thereby enhancing international opportunities for Omani brands.

To add value to the OCCI Programme, the Franchise Centre recently signed three strategic memoranda of cooperation and support. These include an understanding with Oman Oil Marketing Company providing 10 locations at its petrol stations for programme affiliated businesses. It will also provide digital advertising space to promote the programme’s participating brands. The Franchise Centre also signed a framework support agreement for small and medium-sized enterprises with Shell Oman Marketing Company. It provides cash assistance support for participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in Egypt`s Franchise Expo. Furthermore, it allows businesses to operate at 19 locations within the company’s petrol station network. It also signed an agreement with Oman Commercial Centres Company to examine providing between 5 and 12 commercial units at Al Muzn Mall and Nizwa Grand Mall.
