Kazakhstan Exports Growth Increases Global Presence

Kazakhstan`s foreign trade increased convincingly in January-June 2026, with Kazakhstan exports, non-resource and processed goods gaining ground in global markets. Kazakhstan’s exports reached USD 40.3 billion, up 8.6% year-on-year, while imports increased 5.4% to USD 31.5 billion. Total foreign trade turnover rose 7.2% to USD 71.8 billion, producing a positive trade balance of around USD 8.9 billion. According to Ministry of Trade and Integration figures, Kazakhstan exports increased by USD 3.2 billion compared against the first half of 2025. Non-resource and processed goods exports reached USD 15.2 billion, up 17.6% year on year.

China Remains Largest Kazakhstan Exports Destination With 18.6%

Turkey is one of the strongest growth markets seeing exports rise 94.3%, while exports of non-resource and processed goods nearly doubled to USD 1.91 billion. In addition, the United Kingdom also recorded rapid growth, with exports increasing 2.7 times to USD 671.8 million. China remained the largest Kazakhstan exports market, receiving approximately USD 7.51 billion, or 18.6% of total exports. Italy followed with USD 6.98 billion, while Russia, Turkey, the Netherlands, France and Uzbekistan were also among the leading destinations. Moreover, Kazakhstan exports of non-resource and processed goods to China increased 12.1% to USD 3.67 billion. Uzbekistan, France, Afghanistan and Hong Kong also recorded significant growth.

Kazakhstans Geographical Position Offers Access To Global Markets

Kazakhstan`s broader geographical position offers greater access to Asian, European and regional markets and reduces reliance on any single destination. The commodity mix also points to expanding industrial potential. Copper and copper cathodes accounted for USD 2.84 billion, uranium for USD 1.51 billion and ferroalloys recorded USD 1.1 billion. Kazakhstan exports of copper and copper products increased by nearly 58%, while copper ores and concentrates rose roughly 43%. The shift toward higher-value exports is also visible in agriculture as oilseed product revenue quadrupled to USD 963 million in four years. Agricultural products are gaining ground as animal feed products accounted for USD 438 million in January-June.
