Qatar Ministry Commerce & Industry New Service

Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) recently announced the launch of the Regulatory Record Report service. The new digital facility will enable consumers and businesses to access general compliance indicators relating to companies. The Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry service will support businesses to make informed decisions before entering into contractual agreements. Furthermore, it will fall within a legal and regulatory framework that safeguards consumer rights and the statutory rights of companies.

New Digital Service Contributes To Ongoing Transformation Efforts

The launch contributes to Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry`s ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation and strengthen regulatory oversight. It also falls within its targets of enhancing transparency and protecting the rights of all stakeholders. Accordingly, by providing official information, the service reduces reliance on unofficial sources, thereby strengthening confidence in the business environment. As a result, this will enable consumers to make increasingly informed decisions when evaluating companies.

The Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry report includes key information, containing company name, licence number, business activity and licence status. It also provides several compliance indicators, including number of complaints/violations, instances of administrative closure, complaint classifications and response rates.

Regulatory Record Report Accessible Using Several Options

The Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry offers users two processes for obtaining the report. The first requires companies provide prior consent to their information disclosure, with such consent documented/archived in accordance with approved procedures. Under the second mechanism, the company’s consent is sought when the report request is submitted. In this case, the report is available to the consumer only after the company has been notified and approval granted. Beneficiaries may request the report through the Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s website by accessing its Digital Platform Service. Another option is through the Tawtheeq system, selecting Services, navigating to Inquiries and selecting Compliance Record Report.
