Saudi Arabia’s international trade totalled SAR 540.5 billion (USD 144.13 billion) in the third quarter 2025, an 8.6% year-on-year increase.
Healthy Trade Surplus Of SAR 66.1 billion Achieved
According to the quarterly international trade bulletin released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), merchandise exports accounted for 56.1% of total trade at SAR 303.3 billion (USD 80.87 billion). Imports represented 43.9% SAR 237.2 billion (USD 63.25 billion) – a trade surplus of SAR 66.1 billion (USD 17.62 billion).
Non-oil national exports, excluding re-exports, stood at SAR 57 billion (USD 15.19 billion), representing 18.8% of total merchandise exports. This reflects a 3.1% quarterly increase amounting to SAR 1.7 billion (USD 450 million) from the April-June quarter. Meanwhile, oil exports totalled SAR 207.8 billion (USD 55.41 billion) accounting for 68.5% of total exports. Re-exports witnessed a surge of 69.6%, rising SAR 15.8 billion (USD 4.21 billion) reaching SAR 38.5 billion (USD 10.26 billion). As a result, this represents 12.7% of total exports, while on a quarterly basis re-exports grew 17.4%.
Asian Countries Top The List Of Trading Partners
Asian countries remained the top export destination, receiving 71.7% of total Saudi exports at SAR 217.4 billion (USD 57.57 billion). Europe followed with 14.8% or SAR 44.7 billion (USD 11.91 billion), then Africa 7.4% SAR 22.4 billion (USD 5.97 billion). Finally the Americas accounted for 6% OR SAR 18.3 billion (USD 4.87 billion). China maintained its position as the largest importer, representing 14.9% of total exports at SAR 45.2 billion (USD 12.05 billion). The United Arab Emirates ranked second with 10.8% SAR 32.7 billion (USD 8.71 billion), followed by India with 9.5%. Non-oil exports, including re-exports, moved through 34 land, sea and air customs points worth SAR 95.5 billion (USD 25.46 billion). King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah topped the list with SAR 17.3 billion (USD 4.61 billion) followed by Jeddah Islamic Port at SAR 10.8 billion (USD 2.87 billion).
