Saudi Arabia and Estonia have concluded a General Agreement for Cooperation, marking a new chapter in relations between the countries. The agreement was signed in Riyadh and paves the way for collaboration in digital government, trade, green energy and innovation.
Agreement Will Contribute To Realising The Saudi Vision 2030
It aims to combine Estonia’s world-renowned expertise in change, innovation and efficiency with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 strategy. Accordingly, it intends to deliver tailor-made solutions that serve the needs of citizens, businesses and institutions in both nations. Areas of cooperation include digital identity, smart city infrastructure, cybersecurity, green energy and emerging technologies. Importantly, the agreement represents the deepening joint cooperation and strengthening of ties that unite both sides across various fields. Estonia`s established digital solutions already power worldwide governments and businesses and they will soon bring this experience to the Kingdom. It will closely align with Saudi`s Vision 2030 which promotes belief in technology as a force for prosperity and sustainability. Furthermore, the agreement will also open doors for Estonia`s companies to collaborate in important sectors for both economies.
Numerous Memorandum Of Understandings Signed In Riyadh
Alongside deepening ties, Estonian companies are formalising entry into the Kingdom, underscoring an expanding on-the-ground footprint. This includes the signing of two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and the recent opening of its first flagship international showroom. Stargate Hydrogen, an Estonian deep-tech and green hydrogen technology developer, signed MoUs with the Research, Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA). Further agreements were signed with NEOM/ENOWA to advance green hydrogen technology development and deploy its technology in Saudi Arabia. Estonia’s established digital expertise is already well-known across the Gulf Cooperation Countries, from its e-Residency programme to digital healthcare systems. The country is a founding member of the Digital Nations network and home to NATO’s Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.
