Qatar`s real estate sector is strengthening its role in the national economy confirming the success of the economic diversification strategy. The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat) recently reported transaction values and revealed the sectors ever increasing provision towards GDP. Accordingly, real estate contributed 7.4% to GDP worth QAR 13.44 billion (USD 3.68 billion) in the first quarter (Q1). As a result, it registered growth of 7% compared to the same quarter of last year.
Value Of Real Estate Activities Increasing In 2025
The value of real estate activities in the first quarter of 2025 has grown by 20% since Q1 2022. Notably, the Al Rayyan Municipality is the most prominent investment destination in H1 2025 on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis. Furthermore, real estate transaction values in H1 this year reveal the standout districts driving growth within the Al Rayan area. Al Gharafa placed top with QAR 697 million (USD 190.96 million) nearly tripling its value on a y-o-y basis. Further impressive growth was shown in Izghawa and Muaither, while Al Waab recorded QAR 407 million (USD 111.51 million).

In order to further promote the sector, the 3rd Qatar Real Estate Forum will be staged between October 14th and 16th. In addition to the established Cityscape Qatar, these events highlight real estate`s contribution to the Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030). The Forum is a leading annual platform that connects leaders, decision makers, experts, investors and developers in the sector. It aims to showcase the latest global trends in key areas including sustainability, PropTech and smart city development. Meanwhile Cityscape Qatar 2025 will feature more than 70 exhibitors across residential, commercial, industrial, hospitality and logistics sectors. The exhibition aims to promote the country’s real estate prospects by featuring sustainability, innovation and regulatory transparency. It will also feature discussions on smart city planning, green architecture and the integration of AI in real estate.
