Qatar`s Ministry of Labour recently introduced regulatory requirements mandating all employers to submit occupational health reports bi-annually from July 2025. The directive forms part of the government’s ongoing commitment of enhancing workplace safety and transparency and is reinforced by updated guidance.
Strict Reporting Requirements And Deadlines To Be Adhered To
Under the new policy, Qatar based companies must provide a comprehensive report every six months detailing all work-related injuries. In addition, it must itemise any illnesses and health-related incidents affecting their workforce. Importantly, employers are still required to submit a report even if there are no recorded incidents during the reporting period. As a result, the new process will establish a consistent and transparent framework for occupational health monitoring across sectors. Moreover, it will support national efforts tracking workplace health trends, improve regulatory oversight and strengthen preventive health and safety initiatives. Accordingly, Doha`s authorities are expected to issue templates and submission protocols in the upcoming months to standardise and streamline compliance. Notably, this requirement is being introduced amid broader labour reforms aimed at aligning Qatar’s workplace practices with international standards and improving employer accountability.
Employers Should Commence Development of Internal Systems
To prepare for this new legislation, employers should commence developing internal systems and processes to document occupational health data. Furthermore, Human Resource (HR) departments and safety teams should train staff to understand compliance obligations and ensure reporting procedures are followed accurately. Failing to submit timely bi-annual reports, even if no incidents occurred, could result in administrative penalties. As the Ministry of Labour releases additional implementation details, organisations should remain proactive in adapting their compliance strategies.
