Qatar Enhances Ties With Austria, Ireland and South Africa

Qatar Chamber recently met with a high-level Austrian business delegation and several Qatari business owners and local company representatives. The meeting discussed economic and trade relations between the countries and explored ways to enhance them. It reviewed key incentives offered by both sides to attract foreign investments and the relevant frameworks designed to safeguard them.

Trade Exchange Between Qatar And Austria Hits QAR 524 M

In addition, the meeting highlighted the significant growth of Qatar’s tourism and hospitality sector which recorded a healthy 13.8% increase. Further data showed Qatar welcomed 2.6 million visitors in 2025, a 3% increase year-on-year, with European countries accounting for 26%. Notably, trade exchange between Qatar and Austria amounts to QAR 524 million (USD 143.96 million) in 2024, representing 4% growth. Over 60 Austrian companies are currently active in the Qatari market and Austrian products feature in the Qatari business community.

Qatar Chamber Meets Delegations From Ireland And South Africa

In associated news, Qatar and Ireland`s trade ministers recently met and reviewed bilateral trade and investment relations. Furthermore, they discussed ways to develop them and exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest. In addition, Qatar Chamber recently met a business delegation from South Africa. The meeting reviewed trade and economic relations between both countries and explored ways to strengthen them. Importantly, bilateral relations have grown in recent years, with South Africa becoming an important trading partner for Qatar. As a result, volume of trade exchange between the countries reached QAR 630 million (USD 173.08) last year. Qatar Chamber reiterated its commitment to supporting cooperation between the two sides to explore mutual investment opportunities. It noted there is vast potential to boost trade and investment particularly in the medical equipment and agricultural products sectors. Additional key fields include mining, renewable energy, tourism and hospitality, technology, and infrastructure.
