Oman And Uzbekistan Discuss Economic Cooperation

Oman and the Republic of Uzbekistan held official talks recently to boost economic cooperation in investment, industry and trade.

Oman And Uzbekistan Officials Discuss Initiatives To Increase Trade

Discussions covered collaboration in sectors including transportation, industry, mining and tourism and the potential for knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships. Further topics included advancing trade cooperation and following up on the outcomes of the Omani-Uzbek Joint Committee. Accordingly, the meeting also highlighted the importance of public-private sector collaboration to diversify sources of income and expand bilateral trade. The Oman Investment Authority also met Uzbeki officials to review opportunities benefiting both countries and explore possible joint initiatives. Meetings focused on a variety of strategic sectors, including logistics, banking, textiles and oil and gas. During a separate meeting with Uzbeki business leaders, investment opportunities in Oman were presented highlighting the country’s competitive investment environment. A presentation on ‘Invest in Oman’ showcased incentives for investors, benefits of the residency programme and opportunities within special economic and free zones. Furthermore, the delegation visited the ‘Invest in Oman’ lounge to review services, procedures and facilities available to investors. Notably, the visit reflects MoCIIP’s efforts to position Oman as a leading investment destination while expanding diplomatic partnerships to achieve mutual economic growth.

Oman And India Launch Platform To Strengthen Bilateral Trade

In associated news, the Embassy of India announced the India-Oman Network (ION) platform to strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations. The hybrid forum will connect government representatives, industry leaders, think tanks and other stakeholders from both countries for continuous engagement. Following successful ION interactions in early August a series of events have been lined up for September. The Indian embassy expect the network to act as a catalyst for realising trade and investment potential between both nations.
