Oman foreign trade performance remained resilient in 2025 with total value reaching OMR 40.4 billion (USD 104.7 billion). It recorded positive performance in non-oil foreign trade, supported by government efforts to enhance port activity and stimulate productive sectors.
Non-Oil Exports Increased By 7.5 Percent In 2025
According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information, non-oil exports increased 7.5% to OMR 6.7 billion (USD 17.41 billion) in 2025. This figure is compared to OMR 6.2 billion (USD 16.11 billion) in 2024 and includes chemicals, metals and machinery. In addition, re-export activities surged by 20.3%, totalling OMR 2.06 billion (USD 5.35 billion). The latest figures underline the growing importance of non-oil exports and re-export activities in sustaining economic momentum, in line with the Sultanate’s long-term diversification strategy.
UAE Ranks First As Destination For Non-Oil Exports
Further data published by Oman`s News Agency revealed the UAE ranked first as a destination for Oman`s non-oil exports. It recorded the Emirates receiving goods valued at OMR 1.31 billion (USD 3.4 billion), marking a growth rate of 25.3%. Moreover, the UAE also accounted for 35.2% of Oman’s total re-export trade, valued at OMR 724 million (USD 1.88 billion). This reflects growth of 27.2%. Conversely, Omani merchandise imports from the UAE increased by 5.4%, exceeding OMR 4.1 billion (USD 10.65 billion). Other prominent trading partners included Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, China, Iran and India, with varying shares in export and import activities.
