Kazakhstan economy grew 4.1% in the first seven months of 2026 according to a recent Ministry of National Economy report. Kazakhstan`s Bureau of National Statistics (BNS) revealed preliminary data showing oil production totalled 53.2 million tonnes January through July 2026.
Kazakhstan Economy Expanded Through Diversification Efforts
The non-oil sector expanded by 5.4% as manufacturing remained among the strongest-performing sectors, growing 9% over the seven months. The highest increases were recorded in pharmaceuticals – 38.5%, fabricated metal products – 35%, chemicals – 26.9% and mechanical engineering – 22%. Food production rose 13.9%, while building materials increased 9.4% and construction rose 15.3%. Growth was also recorded in transport and warehousing – 7.4%, trade – 5.9%, agriculture – 5% and communications – 4.3%. The figures reveal a widespread distribution of growth as targeted policies become established across several Kazakhstan economy sectors.
Ministry Of Economy Highlights Developed Transport Infrastructure
According to the Ministry of National Economy, the changing composition of growth reflects the gradual diversification of Kazakhstan economy. Such efforts include stronger industrial capacity and the sustained development of transport infrastructure. The government has also focused on supporting domestic producers and small and medium-sized businesses, while increasing investment in non-oil sectors. Independent business indicators also point to activity across a broader range of sectors. These include predictions by the International Monetary Fund that Kazakhstan economy will grow approximately 4.6% in 2026.
