Invest Qatar recently released its 2025 Annual Report, capturing a remarkable year for foreign direct investment (FDI). Accordingly, the results reaffirm Qatar’s position as a leading destination for high value, impact-driven global investment.
Qatar`s Greenfield Projects Attracted 50% Of Foreign Direct Investment
Qatar attracted QAR 12.37 billion (USD 3.4 billion) in FDI capital expenditure in 2025 across 373 projects creating 15,051 new jobs. Over 50% was directed towards greenfield projects and nearly half of FDI projects were classified medium to high tech investments. Invest Qatar noted results reflect Qatar’s fundamentals, including world-class infrastructure, business-friendly regulatory environment and growing talent and knowledge ecosystems. Key investment activity was broad-based across established industrial sectors and emerging growth industries, reflecting a diversified and resilient investment landscape. The top five sectors – consumer products, business services, food/beverages, software/IT services and textiles, accounted for 69% of total projects. This aligns with Qatar`s Third National Development Strategy goals and highlights strong momentum across both traditional and knowledge-driven industries.
Invest Qatar Offering Support In London, NYC, Paris And Istanbul
Importantly, Invest Qatar accelerated its efforts in 2025 to enhance investor engagement and strengthen Qatar’s global investment proposition. A key milestone saw expansion of its international footprint through dedicated representatives in London, New York, Paris, Mumbai and Istanbul. The Agency launched QAR 3.65 billion (USD 1 billion) incentive programme, offering packages for industry, logistics, technology and financial services. In terms of digital transformation, Invest Qatar advanced its agenda with a major upgrade of the Invest Qatar Gateway. Notable enhancements included a secure document vault and streamlined access to tailored banking and telecommunications services. The platform now hosts more than 15,000 registered users and over 900 companies.
Qatar’s improving global standing further demonstrates this momentum, with the country achieving notable rankings across key international indices. The State ranked top 10 globally in the International Institute for Management Development’s Global Competitiveness Report for the first time. Moreover, it ranked 12th globally in fDi Intelligence’s Greenfield Index, reinforcing its position as a leading destination for greenfield investment.
