Invest Qatar Promoting Available Opportunities Across Various Sectors
The Invest Qatar delegation discussed opportunities with leading Chinese companies across advanced manufacturing, life sciences, industrial technologies and digital platforms. Furthermore, the visit featured a structured programme including executive-level meetings, site visits and presentations showcasing Qatar’s world-class investment environment. Additionally, Invest Qatar highlighted the State`s investor‑centric support framework, including market entry facilitation, regulatory co-ordination site selection and expansion support and comprehensive aftercare services.
China remains a key economic partner for Qatar, with collaborations spanning energy, logistics, manufacturing, technology and financial services. Notably, Qatar is home to 520 Chinese companies, reflecting the strength and depth of existing bilateral economic ties. Over the last decade China has ranked among Qatar’s top 10 foreign direct investment source countries. Figures from Invest Qatar FDI Projects Monitor reveal 59 projects generated QAR 10.92 billion (USD 3 billion) in capital expenditure.
Qatar And China Bilateral Trade Volume Hits QAR 86.66 Billion In 2025
Since 2020, China has remained Qatar’s largest trading partner and largest export destination. Bilateral trade volume increased from QAR 38.58 billion (USD 10.6 billion) in 2014 to QAR 86.66 billion (USD 23.81 billion) in 2025. Accordingly, this represents an increase of almost 125%. Practical cooperation has centred on energy cooperation, infrastructure development and cultivated new growth drivers in financial investment and high technology. Both countries also enjoy broad prospects for cooperation in fields including food security, renewable energy and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, people-to-people ties and cultural exchanges between the countries have been rapidly advancing. More and more young people in Qatar are learning Chinese and developing a strong interest in Chinese culture. In addition, there has been sustained growth in the number of Chinese visitors to Qatar. In 2025, this figure reached 132,000, a year-on-year increase of 28%.
