Oman Offering 400 Agricultural Investment Projects

Oman Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources will offer 400 agricultural investment opportunities worth OMR 400 million (USD 1.04 billion). The initiative will be concluded by June 2026 and aims to boost food self-sufficiency while expanding private sector participation.

Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Supporting Plan

The Oman Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources strategy will support the goals of  the Sultanate’s 11th Five-Year Plan. Currently, 219 investment opportunities have already been offered through the Tatweer platform representing 55% of the overall target. Accordingly, the remaining projects will be available before the end of the first half of 2026. The Oman Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources remains focussed on increasing self sufficiency in the livestock sector. Accordingly its efforts have seen egg self-sufficiency exceed 95%, with annual production of around 970 million eggs from five commercial companies. In addition, white meat self-sufficiency is expected to rise from 62% to over 74% by the end of the year. Moreover, red meat self-sufficiency stands at about 45%, with further increases targeted through partnerships, breed improvement and supply chain development.

18 Agricultural Project Contracts Signed Across The Sultanate

In associated news the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources revealed 18 agricultural usufruct investment project contracts were signed. The total investment value of these contracts exceeds OMR 1.9 million (USD 4.93 million). Projects are in the Governorates of Al Buraimi, North Al Sharqiyah, North and South Al Batinah, Al Wusta and Dhofar. This reflects a balanced approach towards developing the agricultural sector throughout the Sultanate of Oman. The contracts cover various agricultural and production activities, including cultivation of wild trees, beekeeping and vegetable farming using modern technologies. Moreover, they encompass grape production in several locations in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate and projects for field crops. Additionally, they cover a frankincense production project in Dhofar and an industrial project to establish a water purification and bottling plant in South Al Batinah.
