Oman Emerging As Foreign Investment Industrial Hub

Foreign investment in Oman is growing rapidly and reflects successful government policies aimed at enhancing the industrial business environment. The increased figures also confirm the effectiveness of incentives and facilities offered to investors in line with Oman Vision 2040.

Array Of Incentives On Offer To Attract Foreign Investment In Oman

According to Invest Oman, one of the most important factors when deciding to invest is 100% foreign ownership of business entities. Accordingly, under the new Foreign Capital Investment Law, there are no restrictions on capital, profit repatriation or dividend transfers. In addition, there are income tax reductions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and long-term residency permits for foreign investors. Further benefits include streamlined procedures for business activities and a supportive, investor-friendly legislative environment.

Foreign investment in Oman is also appealing due to the Sultanates strategic location connecting Eastern and Western markets. Moreover its proximity to millions of consumers in the GCC and emerging economies in Asia and Africa increases the attraction. Its location makes it a vital hub, supported by a sophisticated logistics network that ensures efficient import and export processes. In addition, Oman also offers a stimulating investment environment through its special economic zones, industrial parks and free zones. According to the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones & Free Zones (OPAZ), manufacturing is the second largest sector attracting foreign investment in Oman.

Prominent Organisations Laud Oman`s Efforts To Promote Industry

Significantly, Oman’s efforts in developing its industrial sector have garnered widespread international and local praise. The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) commended the transformation of the sector, driven by the acceleration of high-tech industries. Moreover, a World Bank report also emphasised the pivotal role of the industrial sector in diversifying income sources. Likewise, Standard & Poor’s September 2025 report indicated that manufacturing, services and construction sectors are the main drivers of economic growth.
