Qatar’s Venture Funding Hits QAR 214 M In 2025

Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and MAGNiTT recent revealed Qatar`s venture funding reached QAR 214 million (USD 58.79 million) in 2025.Their combined report revealed an 81% year-on-year increase according thereby reflecting the country’s increasing attractiveness as an investment destination.

Qatar Development Bank Among Key Contributers To Improved Growth

Such growth in funding placed Qatar as MENA`s fourth active market by capital deployed, one position higher compared with 2024. It reflects improved capital availability and growing investor confidence alongside Qatar’s efforts to compete in the global venture capital landscape. Accordingly, Invest Qatar, Qatar Development Bank-backed Startup Qatar Programme and the Qatar Investment Authority-backed Fund of Funds are key contributors.

In terms of timing, deal flow mainly targeted early stage development with pre-seed and seed rounds comprising 93% total transactions. Data in the report shows this is consistent with Qatar`s ongoing ecosystem formation phase. Importantly, such growth continues to be supported by government-led initiatives and market development programmes including Startup Qatar. In addition, the report highlighted the top five industries accounted for 76% of total deal activity in 2025. Fintech retained its position as the most active industry, with 33% of total deal activity up 22% year-on-year (YoY).

Transport And Logistics Most Funded Sector

Transport and logistics was the most funded sector, raising QAR 80 million (USD 21.97 million), reflecting a 716% YoY increase. Moreover, Qatar’s Venture Capital (VC) funding rose from QAR 79 million (USD 49.17 million) in 2021 to a record QAR 214 million (USD 58.79 million) in 2025. Capital deployed expanded at a 28% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the period. Furthermore, Qatar Development Bank continued as the largest contributor to the investor base, participating in 11 of the 33 deals in 2025. QDB`s cumulative invested capital reached QAR 390 million (USD 107.14 million) since inception reflecting its commitment to venture development.
