Saudi Attracts 123,000 New Commercial Registrations

Saudi Arabia’s favourable business environment attracted 123,000 new commercial registrations in the fourth quarter of 2025. As a result, this pushes the total number of active registrations past 1.8 million by year-end.

Riyadh Most Popular Location To Set Up Business In Saudi

According to the Saudi Ministry of Commerce, active sole proprietorship registrations reached 1.26 million by 2025 end, reflecting 20% growth over the past 5 years. Active limited liability companies (LLCs) totalled 571,000, a 183% increase over 5 years. Meanwhile, the number of joint-stock companies grew 50% over the same period to 4,733 active registrations. Riyadh led the way in new commercial registration location during the final quarter of 2025 with 45,600 entities recorded. The next highest region was the Eastern Province with over 20,000 and then the Makkah Province with 19,200. The construction sector topped all industries, with more than 66,000 registrations issued during the quarter. It was followed by wholesale and retail trade with 24,900 and then manufacturing industries recording 23,700.

Saudi Leads Region In Healthcare Investment

Foreign investment in the healthcare sector surged by nearly 560% over the past three years, highlighting strong international confidence. The Kingdom continues to reveal projects to improve healthcare and capacity by strengthening national talent, adopting digital solutions and upgrading facilities. Saudi ranks first regionally in healthcare investment, with agreements signed at Riyadh`s Global Health Exhibition valued at SAR 133 billion (USD 35.4 billion).

Active e-commerce registrations rose 9% year-on-year to 43,800 by the end of the fourth quarter, up 40,000 year-on-year. Strengthening the e-commerce ecosystem is a key objective of the National Transformation Programme. Cybersecurity registrations increased 27% to 9,700,  power generation and distribution activities grew 27% and EV charging station operations expanded 26%.
