Qatar`s government recently approved numerous strategic amendments to several laws in line with the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030. An important change to the investment law targets an increase in non-Qatari private sector capital in order to increase GDP.
Qatar Government Approves Updates To Several Sectors
The Cabinet also approved draft ministerial decisions adopting regional technical regulations and international specifications as Qatari standards. These measures now align with recent developments and metrology, promote exports, ensure import quality, facilitate trade and raise product quality. The updated regulations will target the food and agriculture, medical, construction and consumer good sectors. In addition, the Cabinet also revealed the updated Qatar National Sports Policy developed jointly by the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the National Planning Council. The policy aims to develop sports, support athletic excellence and sustainability with the ultimate goal of promoting healthy lifestyles and community building. Furthermore, increased cooperation was agreed with Belgium in mediation and facilitation.

In associated news, the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) is relocating to a new 6,200 square metre headquarters at Lusail Boulevard. The shift marks a key milestone in QFC’s long-term growth strategy and has been designed to leverage Lusail’s advanced infrastructure. Additionally, the move brings the QFC closer to key financial and professional institutions, placing it within a strategic business environment.
