Oman Hotel Revenue Increases 18% – Hits OMR193 B

Oman`s hotel revenue increased 18% y-o-y between January and September 2025 to reach OMR 193.4 million (USD 505 million). In the same period, room revenues climbed by 21%, occupancy rose by 13% and hotel guest numbers grew by 9%.

Room Inventory To Top 40,300 In Two Years

According to data from property consultancy Cavendish Maxwell there were 36,300 operational hotel rooms by the end of September 2025. An additional 1,000 were set for completion by Quarter four and another 3,000 planned over the next two years. As a result, this will see The Sultanate`s room inventory reach 40,300 by the end of 2027. Notably, Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is investing in OMR 100 million (US 260 million) worth of usufruct agreements. These cover hotels, resorts and integrated developments, while ongoing marketing campaigns are strengthening Oman’s position as a year-round destination. Research showed Oman’s 3-5 star hotels welcomed 1.7 million guests over the first nine months this year. Occupancy hit 53% – a year-on-year increase of over 13% while average room rates reached OMR 45.3 (USD 117) – up 1.3%. Notably, Oman’s domestic market made up the biggest share of hotel guests during the period at 38.1%. Europeans took a share of almost 25% with 425,000 check-ins, with Asian travellers making up 1 in 7 guests (14.4%).

Oman`s Airports Handled 11.2 Million Passengers In 2025

Oman’s airports handled 11.2 million passengers, with 9.8 million (87.4%) using Muscat International Airport. Salalah International Airport was the key secondary hub, accounting for 1.4 million passengers (12%). The Khareef season generated more than a fifth (21%) of Salalah Airport’s total passenger volumes.
