Notably, it is successfully beginning to navigate the transition between legacy LNG contracts and the increase in supply from 2026.

The North Field expansion`s first stage is expected to reinforce Qatar’s position as one of the world’s largest gas exporters. It will allow increased supply of both long-term and spot LNG volumes and will significantly enhance flexibility and market power. The report also highlighted Qatar Energy’s transformation beyond production following its expanding trading capabilities and low carbon fuel investments. Moreover, it highlighted that Qatar is the owner of the world’s largest LNG shipping fleet. It is also becoming increasingly influential in the ammonia and carbon capture markets. As a result, this combination of factors signal a clear ambition to compete across the entire energy value chain. On the domestic front, the report pointed to vital opportunities for sustainable development, particularly in energy and water consumption.
