Oman`s South Al Batinah Governor recently signed 13 investment and implementation agreements worth OMR 9 million (USD 23.38 million). The ceremony took place during the Urbanism, Home and Construction Exhibition and Conference at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. It featured investments related to the planning and construction of 13 public parks with several private sector institutions.
Agreements Will Promote Development, Attract Further Investment
The agreements aim to promote local development, attract investments and support the national economy by empowering the private sector. Further goals are to enhance public facilities and improve quality of life across the administrative regions of South Al Batinah Governorate. Moreover, the agreements target vital projects, including construction of a walkway in Rustaq worth OMR 3.7 million (USD 9.61 million). In addition, another agreement implements phase two of Nakhals “Rimal Park” project, valued at OMR 2.2 million (USD 5.71 million). Other agreements include developing residential neighbourhood parks across the governorate including three sites in Rustaq worth over OMR 383,000 (USD 994,871). Further deals will see the expansion and development of a number of Al-Musannah`s public parks. Additional agreements include revamping the public park in Wadi Al-Maawil (Afi area) worth OMR 313,000 (USD 813,041). Moreover, two parks in Al-Awabi worth OMR 264,000 (USD 685,760) and parks in Barka and Wadi Al-Maawil will also see improvement.
Opportunities To Manage Markets And Public Facilities
The agreements also cover three projects for the management and operation of markets and public facilities for an eleven year period. They include a contract to manage and operate shops in Wadi Al-Maawil market worth over OMR 397,000 (USD 1.03 million). In addition, another contract targets the management and operation of shops in Al-Awabi market worth OMR 253,000 (USD 657,187). Another contract seeks to establish a desert camp as part of the Rimal Park project in Khabbat Al-Qadan, Nakhal.
