Saudi Arabia recorded a trade surplus of SAR 154.7 billion (USD 41.25 billion) during H1 2026, up 53% year-on-year. This compares to SAR 101 billion (USD 26.93 billion) during H1 2025, according to the Saudi General Authority for Statistics.
Saudi Arabia Trade Surplus Significantly Increased In March 2026
Saudi Arabia trade surplus expanded 53% year-on-year in H1 2026 as foreign trade total value surpassed SAR 1 trillion (USD 260 billion). This coincided with the Kingdom`s economy witnessing a 7.3% rise in exports. The volume of foreign merchandise trade increased 2.82% year-on-year during H1 2026 reaching SAR 1.05 trillion (USD 270 billion).
Saudi Arabia trade surplus also strengthened during the first quarter of 2026, with March recording the most significant increase. The surplus increased 213% year-on-year in March while H2 generated a trade surplus of SAR 61.5 billion (USD 16.39 billion). Saudi Arabia’s foreign trade totalled SAR 510.4 billion (USD 136.1 billion) in Q2 2026, compared with SAR 542.1 billion (USD 144.6 billion) in Q1.
Saudi Accounted For 26% Of Investment In MENA During H1 2026
In associated news, Saudi accounted for 26% total investment in Middle East North Africa during H1 2026, according to MAGNiTT. The report cited that the MENA region attracted 243 investors in venture capital rounds during the first half of 2026. It noted that the top 10 investors by number of deals accounted for 45% of all deals during H1 2026. Moreover, data for H1 2026 reflects the increase in local and regional investors in the MENA venture capital ecosystem.
