Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) recently announced its 2026-2030 strategy, which is a continuation of the fund’s long-term roadmap. It will focus on delivering competitive domestic ecosystems to connect sectors while unlocking the full potential of strategic assets. The updated strategy marks a natural evolution as the Saudi Public Investment Fund transitions from growth into sustained value creation. It will strengthen its focus on maximizing impact and raising efficiency of investments while applying the highest standards of governance. In addition, PIF will further enable the role of the private sector as an effective partner for sustainable economic development.
Saudi Public Investment Fund Recently Restructured Investments
Under the 2026-2030 strategy, PIF has categorised its investments into three distinct portfolios.
The Vision Portfolio:
This portfolio aims to leverage synergies across strategic sectors and continue to drive local growth. It will prioritise six competitive domestic ecosystems thereby unlocking new opportunities for the local private sector as investor, partner and supplier. The six ecosystems include tourism, travel, and entertainment; urban development and liveability and advanced manufacturing and innovation. The remaining ecosystems comprise industrials and logistics; clean energy, water and renewables infrastructure and Neom.
The Strategic Portfolio:
This sector will actively manage key strategic assets to maximise the financial returns of PIF’s companies, while supporting their efforts to attract capital. Additionally, the Saudi Public Investment Fund will also continue to invest in opportunities arising from long-term global trends.
The Financial Portfolio:
The financial portfolio will focus on delivering sustainable financial returns to further grow national wealth for future generations. Accordingly, it will manage PIF’s direct and indirect investments in global markets, while building a more diversified and resilient portfolio. This portfolio will also further strengthen strategic international partnerships to help attract capital and increase access to global investment opportunities.
