Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) recently presented its key performance results for 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. It also revealed its initiatives for further development over the coming years.
AIFC Establishes 1,800 New Companies In Quarter One 2026
The Astana International Financial Centre has attracted investments worth KZT 9.9 trillion (USD 21.5 billion) since commencing operations in 2018. Notably, this figure includes KZT 3.3 trillion (USD 7.2 billion) since the start of 2025. Total assets under management within the AIFC amounted to KZT 2.5 trillion (USD 5.4 billion). Accordingly, AIFC participants have contributed KZT 284.3 billion (USD 612.7 million) in taxes since 2018. Currently, the total number of constituents at the Astana International Financial Centre exceeds 5,400. In 2025 and the first quarter of the current year, over 1,800 new companies were established.
The Astana International Financial Centre also reported on the performance of its associated bodies and institutions. Since establishment, the Astana International Exchange (AIX) has raised KZT 5.7 trillion (USD 12.4 billion) in debt and equity capital. Moreover, total trading volume for 2023-2025 will reach KZT 1.9 trillion (USD 4 billion). Additional figures show the AIFC Court and International Arbitration Centre have enforced over 1,600 cases. The total number of cases considered has exceeded 4,900.
Several New Platforms Launched To Initiate Investment
The Astana International Financial Centre has also recently launched several new platforms to initiate investment. These include the Aviation Finance Hub, created to develop an aviation finance ecosystem incorporating aircraft financing, leasing and sector-specific expertise. It has also launched a dedicated platform to attract investment into early-stage geological exploration projects. Moreover, a specialised ecosystem is being developed to support the regions creative industry, including establishment of venture funds, studios and crowdfunding platforms.
Announcing future initiatives, the Astana International Financial Centre will focus on strengthening its international presence and enhancing its regulatory environment. Additional plans include scaling up the AIFC’s experience to support the development of Kazakhstan’s financial market as a whole.
